Saturday 23 May 2020, marks one year since Leap’s last Lighting the Fire Awards. The pandemic has significantly changed how local communities and grassroot organisations engage and work with young people. Nevertheless, many remain committed to supporting young people through and beyond the pandemic and have transferred service provision online.

Lighting the Fire is Leap’s annual awards event that celebrates the young people, adults and projects/organisations that are helping young people to manage the conflict in their lives.

This is now our seventh year hosting the event, which serves to celebrate and raise awareness of the incredible work being done in this sector; to build new relationships; and to bring partner organisations together with young people and funders.

Nominations are now open for Lighting the Fire 2019. The deadline to submit nominations is Monday 1st April (5pm)

Lighting the Fire, the UK’s national youth conflict awards, celebrates the individuals and projects supporting young people with conflict in their lives across the UK.

This year we received an overwhelming response to the awards and had a record number of nominations coming in to recognise the amazing work being done across the youth sector.
