We are looking for someone who values the potential of young people, is passionate about their growth and development and understands the challenges they face. An interest in Leap’s work and approach are essential as well as an ambitious outlook for Leap’s future. Fluency in issues around identity and inclusion are essential. S/he will have experience in leadership of teams, managing a wide range of stakeholders, be financially literate and, ideally, experience of delivery for young people or those facing challenges.

We are looking for an exceptional and inspirational leader with significant strategic and managerial capabilities who has the ambition, and a track record to grow the organisation further and scale the level of impact on the ground. S/he will be credible within the charity sector, and be able to build strong and effective relationships with external stakeholders such as funders, donors, policymakers, local authorities, and other organisations working in Leap’s target segments such as prisons and care.

The chosen individual will report directly to the Chair of the Board of Trustees and is accountable to the overall Board.

Leap Confronting Conflict is being assisted in this appointment process by the executive search firm Society. The new Chief Executive Officer will be appointed by the Leap Board of Trustees. The appointment will be a three stage process:

  1. Applications should be submitted by Monday 14th January. Applications should consist of a CV, ideally accompained by a covering letter addressing the criteria in the Person Specification. To upload these document's via Society's website, click here
  2. The longlist of candidates will be interviewed by Society during w/c 21st and 28th January. Following this, a shortlist will be prepared in consultation with Leap Trustees
  3. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with a Leap nominations committee composed of a sub group of trustees on 15 February 2019. Candidates will also meet a stakeholder panel comprised of young people involved in Leap’s work, and will have the opportunity for a meet and greet with the Leap senior management team
  4. The final two to three candidates will be invited to a final panel interview with the nominations committee on 26 February 2019. Candidates selected for the final interview will need to undergo or provide evidence of DBS clearance
