We all experience conflict. Conflict is personal, it can be internal, it can exist in our relationships, and in our communities. When navigated well, conflict helps us to be more at ease with ourselves and to deepen our relationships, thereby putting us in a position to contribute positively to society. We believe that conflict presents us with opportunities to learn, to change and to grow.
For over 30 years, Leap has designed programmes that transform the way young people and the adults who support them navigate conflict. By developing creative and adaptable approaches, we support young people to deal with immediate issues, whilst also addressing some of the longer term, systematic patterns of behaviour that lead to violent and destructive expressions of conflict.
Compelling evidence, coupled with young people's lived experiences, prove to us that they can shape policy and practice, co-creating solutions to the problems faced by their generation. For 2021-2022, we are working with young ambassadors, young people in care and graduates of our programmes to shape our messaging around violence in the community, conflict in the care system and racism in society.
